Prima Angelique Papers

I love Janine Langer's work. And she makes great sketches too. She did the first sketch for Prima's "Build A Page". Each month Prima will post a new sketch on the blog and in the newsletter from very talented sketch artists- Janine Langer and Anam Stubbington (along with a few surprise sketch guests!).Here is my take on the sketch using the new Angelique papers. These are old photos of Nicole. This was on a Sunday afternoon, right before going to church. We had some dog figurines in the garden and she was pretending that they were real. So my journaling goes... "There was a girl who believed that her toys had life, and that stone dogs would become real at her touch." My daughter loves dogs, but having a dog in the house may trigger her allergies. So sadly she would have to content herself with stone dogs and balloon dogs for now.

I am so honored to be a guest designer for Pencil Lines this week! My super talented co designers at Badgirls Ania and Tracie are DTs there and all the other designers there are so talented that I am just in awe at all of their creations. I'm not really much of a sketch scrapbooker but I find myself looking forward to the next sketch all the time in that site. So you can just imagine how thrilled I was when Annie emailed me about the GDT stint. Annie made a great sketch and I had so much fun interpreting it that I made two layouts instead of just one!

And please take the time to visit the site. The layouts of the DT there is awesome.

Harmony

This is one of my favorite lines from the Winter CHA release of Prima. I only used one sheet here and the Prima Build-a-Frame stamp set. The frame is digital from Primahybrid.com (designed by: Gina Marie Huff - Cherishing Every Moment Add-on Kit).

This picture of my daughter was taken when she just recovered from her eye infection. She also has allergies which explains the swelling. She was going to be a flower girl at a cousin's wedding and we almost didn't go, but we could tell that she really wanted to wear the beautiful dress. She was not contagious or anything anymore so we decided to bring her. I love the photo of her being being held by the hand by her cousin Miguel. He is her hero!

I enjoyed making these cards from scraps. I realized that when making a folded card, you still needed a big enough cardstock. Well I had lots of smaller sized ones and I wanted to save the bigger ones for layouts. So I tried making cards using the smaller cardstocks I had. Here goes...

1. Folder shaped card
(the two pieces are held together by a tab.

2. Pocket type card
The note card at the back will hold my message

Hope you all have a good holiday!

Kimberly thanks so much for this. You are an inspiration to me as well! So this goes right back to you. LOL! Does that mean you have to do it all over again? :)

The rules for the You Make My Day award are to re-present it to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel happy about blog land. Let them know through email or by posting a comment on their blog so they can pass it on. Beware you may get the award several times yourself, and if you do, consider yourself really, really loved.”

Here is my list. Not in any particular order. I love all of them.
Kimberly Garofolo - I love her fresh designs. Her Sassafrass Lass layouts make me drool
Au Lim - This scrapper creates detailed gorgeous artwork which leaves me in awe.
Michelle Guray - Seeing a page by Michelle always make me want to look for more of her creations.
Anne Jo (Ania) Lexander - Ania is the total scrapper. She makes fabulous pages with stunning photography
Tammy Kay - I have always loved Tammy's romantic pages
Chrissy Lee - This gal has so much talent! She designs beautiful pages and stamps too!
Linda Albrecht - I am a fan of Linda's vintage papers. I loved her work from the first time I saw it.
Bethany Kartchner - Vintage, artsy, detailed, funky, graphic - she can do it all!
Christiane Müller - I love how Christiane takes the paper and embellies I normally use and turn it into something different and wonderful! So unique and stunning.
Rita Weiss - My ultimate inspiration for flower designs. She and Prima are perfect for each other.

My First Prima DT Layout

My box from Prima came and I was so pleased with what I found inside. Prima has papers that are so unlike their previous products. And I think it's great! So to celebrate, I made my first Prima layout which is also so unlike my other layouts using Prima... yep, NO FLOWERS!!

I used the Dude line. Mixed a bit of the Harmony paper (cut-out strip with the heart). It's actually a boy line but the patterns and colors are so versatile that you can use it even for a girl.

Here is a couple more layouts from the March Kit of Badgirls...

"Labas Ako!" - which means I'm going out! My daughter would always pull this trick on me. Sometimes at night, when I'm busy on the phone or, on the computer, my daughter would sneak up on us and quietly push the chair near the door. She will climb up, pull the latch, go down, push the chair away... and when everything is set, would shout "LABAS AKO!". I used the packaging of the MM chipboard for the photo corner (black polka dot) and I also cut the strip from the Daisy D's Wonder line paper label (small circles) and used it as an embellishment.

This is one of my favorite photos of Nicole. This swing is her favorite resting place in the afternoon. After the long march during the Trick or Treat, she was so excited to go to the swing and rest - only to find out that a skelleton (The owner of the swing) beat her to it. So she just had to content herself with sitting at the sidewalk! Poor baby.

SCRAP - N-CROP..

asked me to be their guest DT for the month of March. I was honored to be asked to join a community of talented scrappers in Malaysia, and I was also very moved when I read about the focus and goal of the store which is to provide gainful employment to friends and families of brain-injured children. Can you imagine that? That is just beautiful. So I invite you to visit their online store if you are not yet familiar with it. They are also having a DT call! Here is the link

Oh and here is a layout I created for them. I got to use some Autumn Leaves papers. This layout is very special to me cause it is about my first Design Team. The friendship I found in this team is something really special so saying goodbye after two years was difficult.

The March kit has been uploaded at badgirlskits and the DT gallery is up as well. I am so amazed at the creativity of my fellow DT members. I think this is my favorite upload so far.

Here are the layouts I made with the kit. You can view the work of the other designers here.

I had fun doing this layout for Nicole. This is a first for me. I have always been a fan of vintage pages and it was nice to be able to create one.

This one is another first. I have never a picture this small in a layout. In fact in this page, the focus is really more on the journaling.

I honestly was not all that thrilled with the new line of Daisy D's (Wonder Years) when I first saw it online. But I was actually surprised to see how pretty it really was.

Oh and the guest designer for this month is Shimelle Lane! I love her work. You can view her creations here.
